For the medium body-on-frame SUV segment, Toyota
offers the Hilux Surf/4Runner (Japan/North America) and the Land Cruiser Prado
(Europe and Australia). However, in some Central and South American countries
and New Zealand, Toyota offers the Fortuner with the 4Runner and/or the Prado,
such as in Peru, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

along with other utility vehicles such as the Prado, Hilux, HiS, and 70 and 200

The
Toyota Fortuner is a mid-size SUV built by Toyota on the Hilux pickup truck
platform. It was first launched in December 2004 with 4 engine options, 2
petrol, and 2 diesel, and the option of RWD or 4WD configuration. The first
generation Fortuner also had a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4 or 5-speed
automatic transmission.

 

In
2008, the first generation Toyota Fortuner received its first facelift with
features like projector headlamps, new rear lights, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The second facelift came in 2011, with new fenders, hood, grille, headlamps,

The
first generation Fortuner was launched in Pakistan in February 2013, initially

The
2nd generation Fortuner facelift was launched in September 2016 with a petrol
variant. In late 2017, Toyota Indus introduced the Sigma 4 variant of the
Fortuner, powered by a 2.8 liter diesel engine, with various petrol features,
such as power back doors, rear disc brakes, and others. In Jan 2020, Toyota
Industry launched the G trim as the base petrol model of the Fortuner.
